Biography
Hello! My name is Ellie Allen. I was born in Parker, Colorado on June 11, 1998. I lived in California about an hour outside of Los Angeles in a cute little city called Ranchos Palos Verdes for a while. I went to a school that overlooked downtown LA, and honestly, it was a great childhood. Constantly overlooking the city of dreams, it was inevitable that I would be a dreamer.
My family is known for intelligence. My father taught himself to program computers at the young age of 10. My mother has had a career in real estate and is currently a national brand partner for Nerium International. My sister is attending an Institute for Technology and studying Chemical Engineering. Both of my younger brothers attend a Science and Math school for young children. So naturally, I have felt out of place my whole life. I am the artsy one. I love music, photography, reading, writing, and anything that has to do with creativity. I have interests in every aspect of the arts from filmography to recording engineering. I may not be brainy, but God has gifted me with a craving for creativity. Being so close to LA, everyone I knew wanted to grow up and be a celebrity. Whether they wanted to be in the movies or on the Billboard charts, they all wanted fame. As a result, I decided I wanted the same. But when my parents broke the news that we were moving back to my hometown, my dreams were crushed. I was 7 or 8 then, so I didn’t really know what I wanted. But nonetheless, crushed. When we got back to Colorado and I started attending a new school, I made a friend named Caleigh. She introduced me to a novel called Twilight. I am horrified to admit that I read this series, and loved every second of it, especially being only 9 years old (not a great decision). However, I did, and I still read them over and over to this day. Although this may seem like a meaningless event, it sparked my love for reading. I got my own library card and begged my mom to take me every day. I would read books like it was my only way of breathing. Shortly after, I started to write. It started with a diary like every young girl has, and then it grew. I wrote short stories and every morning when I woke up I would write about my dreams as vividly as I could remember them. I still do that every morning. At the age of 10, I begged my mother to put me in guitar lessons. I never practiced, and quite frankly, I was not very good. But I learned. I was given a karaoke machine and a microphone stand for Christmas so I could sing while I played. I was playing constantly. I then started taking vocal and piano lessons and consuming every single bit of music I could. It helped me get through the death of my grandmother, and the biggest personal struggle of my life. Music just has a way to change the way you think and feel. It is a universal language and the beauty of it cannot be contained. I thought for sure that I would pursue music when I got out of school, up until the summer before my Sophomore year in high school, which I guess in my case could also be considered my Junior year. I was blessed to be able to travel to Europe with close friends through EF Tours. We visited Ireland, Wales, London, and Paris. I fell in love with traveling and discovering the world. Many people before had told me that international travel was the most life changing thing you could experience, and I never believed them. I was proven wrong. I not only met so many different people, but I discovered a new love. Photography. In a foreign place, there is so much that you can capture. The culture finds its way into every photograph and the beauty of the cities shines through every last image. For the past 2 years I have been pursuing photography and learning everything that I can.
